Girl Trouble: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays
Excerpt from Amazon.com review: Fun is to be had which seems ironic since most of their songbook's subject matter draws on murder, suicide, serial killings and religious fears, which brings me back to “Tuesdays” which attempts to change this or die trying. A song like “Mr. Thackary” has almost a mod/pop flare to it given it's title charcater, and “Strother Martin” lays down a funky groove where the guitar and sax snake in and out in quite a MORPHINE like vein. “Intoxicating Criminal.” may possibly be there srongest song to date, at least their most accessible. Fret not cult fans, there is still dark territory here, given the Christian doom of “Live With No Tomorrow” and the trail-of-dead ballad “Cross County Curfew” but there is definitely something up at Camp GT, what it exactly is, I am not sure but me likey. |
